Among the global debate on giving ecosystems and parts of the environment like rivers legal person-hood status a European citizens' initiative emerges to gather one million signatures over the course of one year starting from 13.10.2026. Further formation: https://rightsfornature.eu/

Empowering damaged ecosystems with rights to healing, regeneration, and recovery may be a key step in fighting for climate adaption and also reshaping the relationship between western societies and nature – recognizing environmental and human needs as more equal.
